Aquamarine Latin for seawater, aquamarine is a green-blue to blue variety of beryl. Known for its clarity, this stone can be found in very large sizes. Aquamarine is the March birthstone.

Old European Cut The Old European Cut, the precursor to the round brilliant, is an 1890-1930 hand cut round with good symmetry and an open culet, meaning a flat facet at the bottom of the diamond instead of the sharp point of a modern round brilliant cut.

Demi-Parure Demi-Parure are pieces of matching jewelry that are designed to be worn together, though fewer than a full set or parure; dates from the second half of the 16th century, and traditionally, when a parure involved six or seven pieces, a demi-parure was a three-piece suite of (usually) a necklace, earrings, and a brooch.

Verdura Founded by Duke Fulco di Verdura in New York in 1939 with the backing of Vincent Astor and Cole Porter, the house of Verdura created gems featured in the Hitchcock film Suspicion, collaborated on a collection with Salvador Dali, and outfitted Vogue editor Diana Vreeland, Princess Diana and Greta Garbo, among many others.

Unique Elements
This ring features ‘leaves’ of gold that encase the large dome of pavé set aquamarine and diamonds like foliage. The architecture of this ring from 1945 is iconic Verdura. Picture Marella Agnelli wearing this ring with a Givenchy shift dress for day and with a sculptural gown at a gala, with the matching earrings and pin in our collection.
