Unique Elements
The emeralds, diamonds and enamelwork on this iconic David Webb Leopard pin adds style to your looks. This one works for day or evening, equally fabulous on the lapel of a tuxedo and on the waist, shoulder or v front or back of a gown and pinned to a suit jacket.

Emerald The name emerald comes from the ancient Greek word for green and is the green to greenish blue variety of beryl. If a stone is “too light” to be an emerald, it is called a green beryl, although there is no agreement as to exactly where this distinction applies. Emeralds have been mined since 330BC and were used in Cleopatra’s jewelry, as well as by royalty throughout the world. Emerald is the birthstone of May and the stone of the 20th and 35th wedding anniversaries.

Pear Shape The pear shape, also known as teardrop shape, dates back to 1475 when Lodewyck van Bercken invented both the diamond polishing wheel and the pear shape that it enabled. Ideal pear shape symmetry is a length to width ratio of 1.5:1. In a ring, pear cuts can elongate the appearance of the finger, and in earrings, pear cuts can give the appearance of water droplets or movement. This shape holds more color than a round and is typically faceted in the brilliant style to provide maximum sparkle.
