Diamond and Linen Cufflinks, Cartier
$60.00 per day

80 rose cut diamonds set in platinum with linen center inlay cufflinks with 18K yellow gold backs, signed Cartier

$60.00 per day

Rose Cut The rose cut originated in the 1500's and were cut by hand and meant to be beautiful in the candlelight conditions of the time. The name 'rose" for this cut comes from its facets, which are said to resemble petals in a rose bud. The rose cut features a flat base and domed top featuring 3 to 24 facets. As this cut has a flat base, it gives a softer, gentler light than a fully faceted brilliant cut. It also gives a larger face-up appearance than a brilliant cut of similar carat weight, as it carries all of its weight above the flat base.

Inlay Inlay is the technique of applying thin gem material or metal to create decorative details on the surface of a base gem, bone, metal or wood material. Marqueterie is inlaid veneers placed together to form a design or picture.

Cartier “The jeweller of kings and the king of jewelers," Cartier was founded in 1847 in Paris by Louis-François Cartier , and remained a family business until 1964. Cartier has produced jewelry for royal families worldwide, as well as clients including Princess Grace, Elizabeth Taylor, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Jean Cocteau.

Unique Elements
Set in platinum with diamonds and white textured linen centers, these Cartier cufflinks can be worn by anyone – wear them with your favorite French cuff shirt (or find one for the occasion) to elevate your look. Think Yves Saint Laurent Le Smoking jacket for women (or Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford) or James Bond – they would all look great with this piece as a finishing touch.
