Unique Elements
This giant sparkling showstopper ring has everything – the Opal play of color, a spiky sunburst of diamonds. A happy and younger take on a cocktail ring, it suits any look from business to festive to formal.

Opal Opal, composed of silica, is known for its rainbow color flashes/patches, a phenomena known as"play-of-color." Opal can be transparent to opaque, black, gray, white, colorless, orange, red, yellow or brown, with the orange/yellow/red varieties known as fire opal. The Romans regarded opal as a good luck stone, and opals were used extensively during the Art Deco period as both center and side stones. Opal is the birthstone of October.

Quartz Quartz is one of the most widely available minerals on Earth and occurs in many varieties and colors, most notably as amethyst, rose quartz, smoky quartz, rock crystal and citrine. Rutilated quartz contains enclosed rutile needles which can form in unique patterns of thick, thin and criss crossed lines. Ancient Roman, Egyptian, and Greek civilizations believed that quartz crystals had magical powers. Rose quartz is the 5th anniversary gem.

Cushion Cut The cushion cut, which can be both a modern or “old mine” cut is a square or rectangular diamond with softly rounded corners, like a cushion. Most colored gems as well as diamonds were cushion cut in the 19th century, and it is one of the best diamond cuts for retaining natural color, which is why it remains popular for colored stones to this day. The old mine cut has 58 facets where a modern cushion cut typically has 64 facets.

Round Brilliant-Cut The Round Brilliant Cut dates back to 1919, when Marcel Tolkowsky calculated a formula for proportional diamond design to maximize fire, brilliance and wearability, published as “Diamond Design: A Study of the Reflection and Refraction of Light in Diamond.” A round brilliant diamond can also be called a full cut diamond if it features the cutting standard of 57 or 58 facets.
