Peridot and Diamond Pin, Cartier

SKU: J0515

18k yellow gold pin set with one round and 8 oval peridots and .40 carats round brilliant cut diamonds, signed Cartier.

Unique Elements
This vibrant green Cartier peridot pin is all wow factor – the twisted goldwork is masterful, the center diamonds are lively and well matched. This one works for day or evening, equally fabulous on the lapel of a tuxedo and on the waist, shoulder or v front or back of a gown and pinned to a suit jacket.

Peridot Peridot was originally mined by ancient Egyptians who called it the “gem of the sun.” Peridot ranges from brown-green to yellowish green to pure green. The Romans called peridot the “emerald of the evening” and the deepest green peridot have been mistaken for emeralds for centuries. Peridot is the August birthstone and the 15th anniversary stone.

Round Brilliant-Cut The Round Brilliant Cut dates back to 1919, when Marcel Tolkowsky calculated a formula for proportional diamond design to maximize fire, brilliance and wearability, published as “Diamond Design: A Study of the Reflection and Refraction of Light in Diamond.” A round brilliant diamond can also be called a full cut diamond if it features the cutting standard of 57 or 58 facets.

Cartier “The jeweller of kings and the king of jewelers," Cartier was founded in 1847 in Paris by Louis-François Cartier , and remained a family business until 1964. Cartier has produced jewelry for royal families worldwide, as well as clients including Princess Grace, Elizabeth Taylor, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Jean Cocteau.
