Rose Cut Gray and White Diamond Stud Earrings

SKU: J0035

2.95 carats gray diamond with .2 carats of white diamond pavé stud earrings, 18K white gold.

Unique Elements
These studs are a soft gray twist on a diamond classic, complementing a more modern look for day into evening.

Rose Cut The rose cut originated in the 1500's and were cut by hand and meant to be beautiful in the candlelight conditions of the time. The name 'rose" for this cut comes from its facets, which are said to resemble petals in a rose bud. The rose cut features a flat base and domed top featuring 3 to 24 facets. As this cut has a flat base, it gives a softer, gentler light than a fully faceted brilliant cut. It also gives a larger face-up appearance than a brilliant cut of similar carat weight, as it carries all of its weight above the flat base.

Pavé Set The technique of pavé (“pa-vay,”) setting involves setting small diamonds closely together with as little visible prongs or metal holding the stones, giving the impression of seamless sparkle. Pavé setting dates back to the 1700s with increased popularity in the 1900s through the present.

White Gold White Gold use in jewelry is first associated with Art Deco, as yellow gold was out of fashion and it is an alternative to platinum, which had become increasingly more expensive after 1915. 18K gold is softer than platinum but has more than enough strength for everyday wear in fine jewelry, particularly in earrings, bracelets and necklaces.
