Unique Elements
This long chain necklace features golden quartz and pink tourmalines. Wear it with other long yellow gold chains or on its own. It is sure to be a stunning companion to a suit for day, a dress at lunch and a gown at night.

Pink Tourmaline Tourmalines come in a wide range of colors, from red, pinks and peach to green, yellow and blues. Pink tones are caused by trace elements of manganese present in the soil as the tourmaline was forming. In the 1890s, California was a major source of pink tourmaline, most of which was exported to China as it was the favorite color of the Dowager Empress Tz'u Hsi. Tourmaline is an October birthstone, as well as the 8th wedding anniversary stone.

Quartz Quartz is one of the most widely available minerals on Earth and occurs in many varieties and colors, most notably as amethyst, rose quartz, smoky quartz, rock crystal and citrine. Rutilated quartz contains enclosed rutile needles which can form in unique patterns of thick, thin and criss crossed lines. Ancient Roman, Egyptian, and Greek civilizations believed that quartz crystals had magical powers. Rose quartz is the 5th anniversary gem.

Cabochon A cabochon is a gem which has been shaped and polished but not faceted, typically with a domed top and flat bottom. Cabochons are often cut for opaque stones, for softer translucent gems as well as to highlight phenomenon such as asterism “star” and chatoyancy “cat’s eye”, as these would not show in faceted stones. The 'sugarloaf' cabochon cut features a 4-sided pyramid shape.

Bulgari Founded in Rome in 1884 by Sotirios Voulgaris, who changed his name to Bulgari, the company continued to expand after World War 2 with the introduction of its renowned Serpenti collection of bracelet-watches. During the 1950s and 60s Bulgari continued to make its name for use of multi-colored stones, creating pieces for Elizabeth Taylor, Ingrid Bergman and Gina Lollobrigida. Today the house continues to be known for angular forms, strong colors, cabochon gems and enduring collections such as Serpenti and Parentesi.
