Unique Elements
Cartier’s first use of the panther motif was a 1914 watch with diamonds and onyx set in platinum. The panther has been an enduring symbol of the house ever since, and this ring of a panther with tsavorite eyes is iconic Cartier.

Tsavorite Tsavorite is one of the most rare and prized garnet varieties, first discovered near Tsavo West National Park in Kenya in 1971 and popularized by Tiffany and Company in 1974. Tsavorite is known for its intense green color.

Onyx Onyx is a variety of chalcedony. The use of onyx in jewelry dates back to biblical times, described as part of the jeweled breastplate worn by Aaron as well as in the works of Pliny the Elder in the first century.

Pear Shape The pear shape, also known as teardrop shape, dates back to 1475 when Lodewyck van Bercken invented both the diamond polishing wheel and the pear shape that it enabled. Ideal pear shape symmetry is a length to width ratio of 1.5:1. In a ring, pear cuts can elongate the appearance of the finger, and in earrings, pear cuts can give the appearance of water droplets or movement. This shape holds more color than a round and is typically faceted in the brilliant style to provide maximum sparkle.

Cartier “The jeweller of kings and the king of jewelers," Cartier was founded in 1847 in Paris by Louis-François Cartier , and remained a family business until 1964. Cartier has produced jewelry for royal families worldwide, as well as clients including Princess Grace, Elizabeth Taylor, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Jean Cocteau.

Rose Gold Rose gold is a mix of yellow gold and (usually) copper used to give a pinkish tone to the metal. The exact combination of the alloy can vary, giving different shades and tones of red to pink. Rose gold first became popular in 19th century Russia, and continues to be used in fine jewelry for its flattering tones.
