We have assembled iconic and phenomenal jewelry from 1870 - present. Our collection includes certified natural green diamonds, Burma rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. By recirculating these works of art in the economy, Beekman New York aims to bring joy and sustainability to the experience of wearing luxury fine jewelry.

Where does the name Beekman come from? We felt strongly that the name should speak to the company’s heritage as a New York-based trading experience, and Beekman is one of the earliest names recorded in the oyster trade of New York in the 1600s. As we carry many types of pearls, we thought an oyster name was fitting. We also thought of the character of Sir Francis Beekman, who is the owner of a diamond mine in the 1953 film “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” starring Marilyn Monroe.
Who do you see as your competitors? The Beekman New York experience offers access to items that are differentiated by their provenance, quality and curation. Although others may offer access to jewelry, we set ourselves apart by bringing pieces that embody the quality, craftsmanship and beauty of luxury fine jewelry back into circulation. The Beekman New York offering extends beyond that of product by incorporating education, sustainability and premium service, which sets us apart.
How does the process work? Is Beekman New York online only? The process begins online. Clients are able to browse jewelry online and make their selection. To borrow the piece(s), you must provide proof of current insurance coverage. We will also send you a list to review with your insurance provider so that you can be advised of your coverage during the borrow (but you are not required to add a rider). Many policies allow you to add an insurance rider for complete coverage of the borrow. This is to ensure that you wear your piece(s) at ease. Once the transaction is complete, the jewelry is shipped and you can experience/enjoy it for up to 8 days (for non-members). You then return the item(s) and can make a new selection. The online model is structured in a way that anyone within the United States can access the site.
Can I visit you in person and see the pieces before borrowing? Beekman New York has a flagship New York showroom that is available by appointment to members only. When you access the site, you will have the option of signing up for a monthly membership, which gives access to showroom appointments, to longer, more flexible borrowing periods, to master classes in gemology and special events as well as to member previews of new and special pieces. We welcome members to experience the joy of luxury fine jewelry with us in New York City as well as online.
Who is the Beekman client? Are you privately funded? We have a small team of investors that support our vision and the growth of the business.
How do you reassure a client who may not be familiar with insurance riders about the loan process? Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible for our clients so they can enjoy their selection with peace of mind. We require that our clients are insured, but we do not require that the borrowed pieces are added to our clients' insurance. We provide our clients with the insurance list and time to review their options with their insurance providers. We believe our clients will see this as a smooth way to manage risks and understand how it guarantees peace of mind with a reduced administrative constraint.
How do you select the pieces that you buy? All Beekman New York pieces are selected by a GIA trained gemologist. We only consider buying pieces that we deem exceptional. From there, we look at how or why the piece fits into our current product assortment. Many factors are considered: occasion, brand, time period, heritage, stone, metal, craftsmanship, shape, size, etc. Providing our clients with a service to discover unique and extraordinary pieces is our priority and the core of our buying strategy.
Is every piece one of a kind? All of the Beekman New York jewelry is highly sought after and unique in some way; our vault contains extremely special and hand selected jewelry that seamlessly aligns with the socially demanding lifestyle of our clients. Do you have relationships with each of the houses? We have strong relationships with jewelry houses, private collectors, specialized dealers and auction houses globally. The beauty of Beekman New York is our clients will have 100% confidence in knowing that the pieces they loan from us are the best of the best. We source incredibly specific pieces and in order to locate them we rely on our well-established relationships with the finest jewelry network all over the world.
What is the price range? The pieces in our current offering have a retail value ranging from 15k to 250k. We also have a number of outstanding rarities with values reaching over 500k. We are committed to preserving the retail value set by the original houses.
What is the product split between men and women? We view our offering as nonbinary and believe that our clients will indulge in styles that speak to them individually.
How often are you planning to add pieces to the site? We plan to replenish as needed: our only limitation will be the scarcity of desirable unique pieces in the market. We will pay close attention to our clients’ discovery patterns and adapt our offering accordingly working with our network of jewelry experts to source the rarest pieces. Jewelry is incredibly personal; we have an extraordinary offering that will inspire the wearer - in order to do this, we plan to be fluid in the replenishment approach.
Where do you source your products from? We source from all over the world and only where we have access to the absolute finest. Sometimes this means going directly to the jewelry house, other times this might mean working with private individuals. In some cases, we are unable to reveal our sources as they are private collections and have asked to be anonymous for personal and security reasons. We respect and honor their privacy. All our pieces are documented and have an irreproachable history of ownership. We are also committed to minimizing our impact on the environment and focus on recirculation of existing pieces as well as sustainably sourced stones and recycled gold.

The loan process takes you off the platform so the entire transaction does not take place on the BeekmanNYC.com website. Is that OK? Yes. We are confident that our clients with a passion for high jewelry will take the steps needed to borrow from us. At this price level, the multistep process for approval is a common protocol. It protects the wearer and ultimately allows them to wear the jewelry with ease and peace of mind.
How long can I borrow a piece? Non-members can borrow for eight days from send out to return and members have the option of 8, 16 and 24 day borrowing as well as shorter borrows (see "how can I reduce the number of days" below).
Why are nonmember loans set at 8 days? The 8 day non-member borrow allows for:
●2 days of shipping
●1 "cushion" day before your event for safety
●The event day
●1 day after your event to relax
●2 days of return shipping
●1 day of inspection/repairs
Our exceptional pieces are one of a kind and we are based in New York. In designing our service, we wanted to keep the per day price and shipping cost as low as possible, to allow for a wider audience to enjoy these unique pieces, and we did not want to restrict these pieces to members only. However, when the pieces are in transit, they cannot be enjoyed by anyone else. Rather than baking this cost into a higher price per “day” for a lower number of days (i.e. calculate your borrow as 1-3 days but charge the cost of the total 8 days), we account for this cost upfront on a per day basis and have designed this borrow to allow for a stress-free experience for nonmembers to enjoy pieces for events throughout the country. We do offer a number of ways to reduce this timing for our membership.
Can I reduce or increase the number of days for my borrow? Members are able to borrow for more flexible time periods, both shorter and longer (up to 24 days) and to plan pieces in advance. The per day price is the same for members and non members, regardless of location, as we have set this price to be as low as possible for all. For example, local NYC members can select to pick up and drop off at our showroom. A piece picked up on Thursday, worn Thursday night and returned on Friday before 10am would be a 1 day borrow if no repairs are needed, and the piece will be available to another client on Friday afternoon. Non-local members are able to select express shipping as well as to eliminate the cushion days, reducing their borrow to as few as 3 days (2 days total shipping, 1 day use) if no repairs are needed and overnight am delivery is selected.

We also offer vacation services to members, who can send images of their vacation wardrobe to our inhouse stylist, choose complimentary jewelry, and borrow these pieces for up to 24 days, shipping to and from their destination hotels/properties and avoiding airport security and hassle. What if you break or damage a piece? The beauty of high jewelry is that it is really tough to break. It can be worn in day to day life and should not be reserved only for special events. Jewelry brings joy to the wearer’s life and we hope our clients will embrace every opportunity to experience it. We expect pieces to receive normal every day wear and tear. Clients are responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. On the off chance a piece is damaged or broken, we will work closely with the client and their insurance to resolve the issue.
What happens if you lose a piece? You and your insurance are 100% responsible for the full price of the item. This is why the insurance requirement and the time to review your own policy coverage are so important. Our process is designed to protect the client and the jewelry.
Do you loan internationally? We are currently able to loan to anyone located in the 48 contiguous United States only.
Can you walk us through the membership process? It is a short application process and base monthly fee. That's it!
How is the product shipped to a client? This is dependent upon the value of the piece(s). In some cases, we will send via insured shipping and in other cases, if the value is over a certain amount, an armed guard will deliver. If the client is based in Manhattan, we will hand deliver same day if needed.
How is the product returned? The exact same way it was delivered. We will include all the packaging in the box it is delivered in along with very clear instructions. The client will pack it up, arrange for the pick-up and hand it off. We also have a concierge service that will be available by phone for any questions along the way. Once it is returned to Beekman New York, we will inspect it and check it back in to the vault.
What if I am not sure which pieces to wear? We have in-house stylists who are available for video calls with members to answer questions and to advise on pairings for different looks. Members can also email outfits to our stylist and we will send back a lookbook of suggested pairings within 24hrs of the request. Members can also book an appointment in our showroom to bring outfits and try on the pairings in person!
How has COVID-19 affected your process? As all pieces are inspected and cleaned upon return to Beekman New York, you can be assured that any jewelry you borrow has been thorougly cleaned and is safe to wear and enjoy. In addition, our shipments are packaged with safe social distancing, and are handled in a gloved and masked environment, including handoff to our shipping partners. We are committed to ensuring the safety of everyone, and are styling via zoom or email during shelter in place and will reopen our showroom for appointments once the restrictions have been lifted.

Shipping and Returns

Order and Shipping Confirmation Once your order has been successfully approved and placed, you will receive email confirmation that includes your order number and shipping method, which will be two-day shipping via Malca or Fedex Malca, signature required. Please make sure your shipping address is correct as we are unable to redirect goods once they have been dispatched to you. Also, please be sure you are able to sign for your order personally. Once your order is prepared for shipment you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information.
Where We Ship We currently ship to the 48 contiguous United States. We do not ship to PO Boxes/APO/FPO addresses. Signature is required, and thus your designated point of delivery should be your office or home address or other address where you personally can sign for and receive delivery.
Shipping Costs Shipping is based on two-day shipping via Malca or Fedex Malca from our facility to your designated point of delivery, and the return to the Company’s facility from that area. We also offer members same day pickup and dropoff in New York City. Merchandise is shipped with prepaid to/from shipping labels, which includes delivery insurance, and the cost of shipping is reflected in the transaction amount determined when you complete your order check out.
Delivery Orders approved on weekdays before 2:00 P.M. EST will ship on the same day. Orders placed after 2:00 P.M. or on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day. Expedited shipping is only available to shipping addresses within the contiguous United States.

How is the product shipped to a client? This is dependent upon the value of the piece(s). In some cases, we will send via insured shipping and in other cases, if the value is over a certain amount, an armed guard will deliver. If the client is based in Manhattan, we will hand deliver same day if needed.
How is the product returned? The exact same way it was delivered. We will include all the packaging in the box it is delivered in along with very clear instructions. The client will pack it up, arrange for the pick-up and hand it off. We also have a concierge service that will be available by phone for any questions along the way. Once it is returned to Beekman New York, we will inspect it and check it back in to the vault.
What if I am not sure which pieces to wear? We have in-house stylists who are available for video calls with members to answer questions and to advise on pairings for different looks. Members can also email outfits to our stylist and we will send back a lookbook of suggested pairings within 24hrs of the request. Members can also book an appointment in our showroom to bring outfits and try on the pairings in person!
How has COVID-19 affected your process? As all pieces are inspected and cleaned upon return to Beekman New York, you can be assured that any jewelry you borrow has been thorougly cleaned and is safe to wear and enjoy. In addition, our shipments are packaged with safe social distancing, and are handled in a gloved and masked environment, including handoff to our shipping partners. We are committed to ensuring the safety of everyone, and are styling via zoom or email during shelter in place and will reopen our showroom for appointments once the restrictions have been lifted.

Order and Shipping Confirmation Once your order has been successfully approved and placed, you will receive email confirmation that includes your order number and shipping method, which will be two-day shipping via Malca or Fedex Malca, signature required. Please make sure your shipping address is correct as we are unable to redirect goods once they have been dispatched to you. Also, please be sure you are able to sign for your order personally. Once your order is prepared for shipment you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking information.
Where We Ship We currently ship to the 48 contiguous United States. We do not ship to PO Boxes/APO/FPO addresses. Signature is required, and thus your designated point of delivery should be your office or home address or other address where you personally can sign for and receive delivery.
Shipping Costs Shipping is based on two-day shipping via Malca or Fedex Malca from our facility to your designated point of delivery, and the return to the Company’s facility from that area. We also offer members same day pickup and dropoff in New York City. Merchandise is shipped with prepaid to/from shipping labels, which includes delivery insurance, and the cost of shipping is reflected in the transaction amount determined when you complete your order check out.
Delivery Orders approved on weekdays before 2:00 P.M. EST will ship on the same day. Orders placed after 2:00 P.M. or on weekends or holidays will ship the following business day. Expedited shipping is only available to shipping addresses within the contiguous United States.
